After a late rally victoriy against Nebraska Omaha, Wichita State looks to build on their 3-5 record in a three-game home series with Sam Houston State.

Wichita State collected two early wins in their home-opening series against Northern Colorado, before dropping five straight. The Shockers fell in four straight road games, losing at Oral Roberts and a three-game series at New Mexico.

WSU will play host to Sam Houston State in a weekend series starting Friday.

Sam Houston State’s 3-7 record has already been challenged with three ranked opponents in No. 6 Lousiana-Lafayette, No. 23 Texas Tech and No. 25 Oklahoma.

The Bearkats are coming off losses against Baylor and Rice in their last two outings. They were swept in their first road series against Louisiana-Lafayette. They dropped their home opener against UTSA. They rebounded, sweeping No. 25 Oklahoma in a three-game home series, including a 4-3 victory in extra innings.

First pitch is 3 p.m. Friday at Eck Stadium.
