Champions Club provides first-class tickets to games

The Champions Club is a fan’s first class ticket to experience men’s Shocker Basketball the way that true fans would appreciate.

Located inside Charles Koch Arena, the 3,500-square-foot space dedicated to the Champions Club is utilized for women’s and men’s basketball and volleyball.

Alex Johnson, director of Athletic Development, described how each game plays out for a member of the Champions Club.

“It starts with the atmosphere and camaraderie our fans share prior to each game and at halftime in Champions Club,” he said. “We work to ensure a quality environment the moment a member or guest walks into the hospitality area by providing the finest catered meals to professional and responsive customer service from our wait staff.”

Although it does not come cheap, fans, alumni, businesses and Wichita State staff have the opportunity to experience the game in a first-class manner.

A membership to the Champions Club has become a sort of holy grail for Shocker fans.

“Each membership is currently $3,900 per season,” Johnson said. “The team’s success increases interest in [the club]. We operate the Champions Club at full capacity in regards to membership, and currently have a waiting list of interested season ticket holders.”

There are currently 98 fans that hold a Champions Club membership. Along with the title of being a member, each membership allows for an elite experience similar to flying first class or wearing a VIP badge.

“At men’s basketball games, each Champions Club membership provides two individuals to use the club during home games along with the opportunity to request guests,” Johnson said. “Access to the club begins when the doors of Charles Koch Arena open for the game, an hour and a half prior to each home game, and again at halftime.”

Other than being an entry to a high-class club, the Champions Club allows fans to experience the game differently than any other supporter of the sport.

The club takes pride in creating an atmosphere that allows Shocker Athletic enthusiasts not just to watch, but to see, hear and feel the game.
