10-year anniversary of ‘The Catch’

Matt Brown was back inside of Eck Stadium on Tuesday night to throw out the first pitch before the Wichita State, Oklahoma University baseball game. The former Shocker became famous for diving over the foul fence in right field and catching a fly ball to record an out against Oklahoma on Aug. 26, 2005.

The full-body extension, flip over the wall and catch earned Brown a nomination for an ESPY Award that season for “Best Play,” and was also No. 1 on SportsCenter for top 10 plays.

Brown ended his three seasons at WSU with a .313 batting average, 45 doubles, 11 triples, 14 home runs, 144 RBI and 44 stolen bases.
