Symphony Orchestra holds concert featuring faculty members

The WSU Symphony Orchestra will perform in Miller Concert Hall on Thursday, led by director Mark Laycock.
Three faculty members will be featured as part of the performance, including Betul Soykan, violin, Carmen Lemoine, flute, and Alan Held, voice.
Soykan will be playing “Chaconne” from John Corigliano’s score to the film “The Red Violin.” Lemoine will perform Guillaume Connesson’s “Pour Sortir au Jour.” The concert will conclude with Held singing Aaron Copland’s “Old American Songs.”
Soykan will be featured for the second time this year alongside the orchestra.
Doors open at 7 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. performance. Tickets are free for Wichita State students with a valid Shocker ID. Tickets are on sale for $12 each for non-students, with discounts available for seniors, members of the military, faculty, and children,
