Strong start places women’s golf fourth in tournament

The Wichita State women’s golf team is in fourth place after playing the first round of the Little Rock Golf Classic Saturday in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.

Meghan Schuetz, who is tied for fifth place with an even-par 72 on her scorecard, leads the Shockers.

Senior Bryce Schroeder is not far behind Schuetz, who shot a one-over-par 73 in her first round, tying her for eighth place.

Head coach Tom McCurdy gave a quote regarding the first round to goshockers.com

“The course was very wet,” McCurdy said in the article. “We had chances but had some issues with bunkers. I’m happy with how we fought for every stroke. All in all it was a good start to the tournament.”
