Students Unite suspended from campaigning

The Student Government Association Election Commission suspended the Students Unite party from election campaigning on Wednesday.

Students Unite, led by Presidential Candidate Darren Beckham was found guilty of being endorsed at an SGA sponsored event. Although the party did not speak, current SGA Senator DianaCarbajal endorsed them at the event.

The party is required to make a formal apology on their social networks by Thursday at 5:00 p.m. and must remove all campaigning materials including signs and flyers by Friday at 5:00 p.m. The party will also take out an ad in Monday’s issue of the Sunflower to apologize further.

Students Unite will still participate in the election debate on Tuesday and will be allowed to resume campaigning Wednesday.
