The American Conference announced its All-Conference volleyball teams Thursday morning, with one Wichita State newcomer and one veteran earning honors.
Redshirt senior right-side Brooklyn Leggett and junior outside Sydney Dunning were named First Team and Second Team All-Conference members, respectively. Leggett played her final match in Koch Arena last Friday and Dunning transferred from Cal State Bakersfield over the offseason.

Both players have been offensive rocks for the Shockers this season. They have accounted for 726 of WSU’s 1,446 total kills, a little above 50%. Dunning leads the team with 380, and Leggett isn’t far behind with 346.
Leggett’s numbers have been on the incline since coming to campus, as well.
As a redshirt sophomore, she only made four kills, but that rocketed to 266 following her redshirt junior season last year. She also made the Shockers’ final two kills to win the American Conference Championship a season ago. Her consistency has shown, as her attacking percentage has jumped from .198 to .272 between her redshirt junior and redshirt senior seasons.
Dunning made her presence known as early as the third game of the season, racking up a career-high 27 kills in a win against Incarnate Word. She’s made 20 or more kills in three matches to go with a .226 hitting percentage. Dunning also had a streak of seven matches with 10 or more kills from Aug. 31 to Sept. 12.
WSU plays in the first round of the American Conference Championship Friday at 12:30 p.m. against North Texas. The Shockers enter the tournament as the No. 5 seed, and the Mean Green enter as the No. 4 seed. The match can be streamed on ESPN+.
