YouTube star Matthew “MatPat” Patrick will visit Wichita State at 7 p.m. on April 16 in the Lowe Auditorium, which is in the Eugene Hughes Metroplex.
Patrick is best known for his “Theories” YouTube channels, where he used science and math to analyze a wide range of topics.
At “An Evening with MatPat,” Patrick will speak about his journey as a content creator and entrepreneur, along with a moderated Q&A. Prior to the event, those who plan on attending can submit questions on the Student Activities Council Instagram page.
The event will be hosted by SAC in collaboration with Shocker Studios. Earlier in the year, SAC held multiple polls asking students who they would like to see come to campus. Emma Benefiel, chairperson of the Student Night Life Council, said “it was safe to say (Patrick) won every single time.”
“We did one in person,” Benefiel said. “People came out of their dorms in their PJ’s just to vote for him.”
The event is intended for ages 13 and up. It will also have a clear bag policy enforced at the door. Students can purchase tickets for $10, WSU faculty and staff for $18 and the general public for $25. Tickets can be purchased on the SAC website.
