Cleo Littleton, the career leading scorer for Wichita State’s basketball team, has died at 93, according to his family.
The news was shared via Cleo’s son, Barry Littleton, on Facebook on June 1, saying, “My father, the legendary Shocker Cleo Littleton, joined my beloved mother last night.”
Littleton, a Wichita native and Wichita East High School alum, joined the Shockers in 1951, and finished his career as a forward in 1955 with 2,164 points. Littleton is one of the two Shockers to have scored over 2,000 career points.
Littleton is also the only men’s basketball player in the Missouri Valley Conference history to be named first-team all-conference four times and was inducted into the MVC Hall of Fame in 2000.
His No. 13 jersey was retired by WSU, and is now one of the select jerseys to hang in the rafters at Charles Koch Arena.
