The deadline to register to vote and update existing voter registrations for the Aug. 4 primary election is July 14.
Primary elections in Kansas are based on party registration. Voters will select the candidates for the party they are a member of. Candidates will be chosen for local, state and federal office.
In order to register to vote, you must be:
- 18 years old
- A U.S. citizen
- A Kansas resident
- Finished serving sentence for felony conviction
Voters with a valid Kansas driver’s license or non-driver’s identification cards, can register online. Those without ID, or who don’t want to register online, must complete a paper application. Paper applications are offered in both English and Spanish.
