Hillary for Kansas opens Wichita office

Hillary for Kansas, part of the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign, expanded its efforts in Kansas on Wednesday with the opening of its Wichita office.

According to a news release from Hillary for Kansas, campaign supporters have built grassroots support for Clinton, a democrat, across the state. The Wichita office, located at 2911 E. Douglas Ave., serves as a hub for organizing activity for the Clinton campaign in south-central Kansas.

Organizers and volunteers will plan and launch telephone banks, organize meetings and canvasses from the Wichita office, according to the release.

Clinton served as first lady of the United States when her husband, Bill, was president from 1993 to 2001. She served as a U.S. senator for New York from 2001 to 2009 before serving as secretary of state under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2013.

“Hillary Clinton is a leader with the experience we need to deliver real results for Kansas families,” said Lauren Brainerd, Hillary for Kansas state director, in a statement. “She’s the only candidate in the race with the experience to step into the role of the presidency and do all parts of the job. She’s spent a lifetime getting results for women and families, and our supporters and volunteers are excited to continue fighting hard for her in Kansas.”

The Kansas Caucus for both major parties, which will help determine presidential nominees, is set for March 5.
