Baker dominates at Evansville

The Wichita State Shockers moved their impressive streak to 27-0 Sunday afternoon after beating the Evansville Purple Aces. In Ron Baker’s MVP performance, he scored 26 points, added 5 steals and hauled in 4 rebounds.

Baker was on fire Sunday afternoon — a force to be reckoned with on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

Wichita State’s game plan to get Baker involved was successful because he was able to get open in space and create shots for himself.

Baker did everything on the offensive end — made shots, dunked the ball, had assists and was downright unstoppable.

Fred VanVleet complimented Baker very well by adding 16 points and 8 assists, 4 of which were to Baker.

On the defensive end, Baker was ridiculous with stealing the ball five times and added a block.

More than any statistics, Baker excels at making hustle plays. When the Shockers need a lift, they look to him to make a play.

Baker must be on the same page as Gregg Marshall, because when Marshall needs someone to come up in the clutch, he’s there.

Baker led the Shockers with 26 points, and the Shockers rolled the Aces 84-68.

The Shockers play Loyola next at 8 p.m. Feb. 19 in Gentile arena in Chicago.
