Game night etiquette
Due to such a successful season last year, the Wichita State Shockers basketball teams have started receiving national attention. With all of America watching, it is imperative that every fan in Shocker Nation conducts him or herself properly at games this season.
Throw up your shock-fist, not your middle finger.
Everyone knows the two symbols. One shows our pride as Shockers, the other is a distasteful gesture. Whether it’s a foul, screaming fan or a bad call, Shockers never show inappropriate gestures toward any other person.
Cheer, don’t sneer.
Sometimes the game can get a little heated, but Shockers never yell at other game attendees or refs. Shockers never cause physical violence.
Dress appropriately.
Since you are a representative of WSU, it’s important to dress the part. This means hanging up your fishnets and show-all skirts and donning a fashionable Shocker T-shirt instead.
Cheer your heart out at every game, but be respectful of others in the process. Remember, you are the face of Shocker Nation and the world is watching.
