Giving Wichita Vogue

Wichita was rated the worst dressed city in the entire United States last April by , which to most, probably doesn’t come as a surprise.

In an effort to prove Wichita has more to offer than traditional Midwestern garb, The Sunflower will periodically feature eclectic and trendy fashions on campus to prove Wichita possesses — at least some — modish trends.

Cree Enna, a senior communication and sociology major, said she knows well-dressed people in Wichita.

Like a large majority of college students, she typically wears sweats to class.

“I am not a jeans person at all,” Enna said. “I see a lot of people wearing basketball shorts or yoga pants with the Ugg boots, [university] shirts or the simple jeans and T-shirt.”

When not wearing sweats, Enna looks for inspiration on Pinterest and shops the Internet for the latest trends.

She says she is addicted to fashion and has so much clothing that she sometimes gives it away to make space for new pieces.

“I have a lot of shoes, and I like to layer, especially when it is cold outside,” she said. “I shop on the Internet, because I can buy clothes anywhere and anytime, even during class.”

Enna wore maroon jean-leggings, a multicolored T-shirt featuring rapper Biggie Smalls, a vintage looking denim jacket with a worn wash and black cargo boots. Her accessories include a black beanie hat, chain necklace and the ever-trendy thick-rimmed glasses.

Her jacket, shoes and T-shIrt meld 80’s and 90’s style, pairing well with the other pieces and giving it a modern flare with a kick of vintage.

She calls it “Notorious” — minus the B.I.G., of course.

Enna calls her style vintage and versatile, combining random items to create an eye-popping ensemble.
