Oblivion

“Tron: Legacy” director Joseph Kosinski brings us another post-apocalyptic film that excels in amazing visuals, but appears to be all too familiar in the story department. Tom Cruise portrays the disconnected action man on a dilapidated Earth, making new discoveries and fighting oppressors during the movie’s 124-minute run time. It seems that everything from “2001: A Space Odyssey” to “WALL-E” comes up somewhere in the story. This is a recommended film in the visuals department, so a ticket to an IMAX screening is worth it. Just don’t be surprised if you say to yourself, “Haven’t I seen this before?”
