Shocker Printing offers limited supplies

Shocker Printing is now offering limited supplies for ImageQuest Xerox copier fleet. Orders can be placed at the Shocker Printing storefront with an ImageQuest printer ID number. There is a maximum of one unit per item.

University schedule for winter closedown

Due to overlapping in winter closure and the beginning of the spring semester, winter break has been changed to begin a day earlier and end a day earlier. Winter office closures will begin Monday, Dec. 18, and end Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024. A schedule for employees working throughout winter break can be found here

Smart Lab Speaker Series focuses on leadership, diversity

The Department of Sport Management is hosting a speech by Marshall Cho that will focus on leadership and embracing diversity, equity and inclusion. The speech will take place in Devlin Hall, room 010, on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. Only 40 seats will be available. HealthHum meetings for the month of October and November

The Academic Center for Biomedical and Health Humanities is having meetings Friday, Oct. 27, in Lindquist Hall at 10 a.m. and Friday, Nov. 17, at 1:30 p.m. at a location that is yet to be determined. Faculty and staff from any college whose work is in health and wellbeing are invited to help HealthHum plan a showcase of its work at WSU and reach out to possible partners. Savvy Scholar Workshop to focus on geographic information systems

WSU students can expand their research skills by attending the University Libraries Savvy Scholar Workshop. This workshop will focus on using geographic information systems for research endeavors. The workshop will take place in Ablah Library on Nov. 1 from 3-4 p.m.

Expanding Your Horizons STEM Workshop

The annual Expanding Your Horizons Workshop allows middle school girls to learn more about different STEM fields. With a $15 entry, guests will participate in hands-on workshops, have lunch and get a t-shirt and bag. Parents are invited to attend an optional session that will talk about college preparation and financing. The workshop is Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, click here.

Shocker Rowing to host a class race

On Saturday, Oct. 28, Shocker Rowing is hosting class races between freshmen and seniors on the Arkansas River. Attendees can learn to row for $30 a person. The event is from 2-5 p.m. For tickets and more information. click here

Community Conversation with WSUPD

Students and faculty are invited to the Innovation Campus for a conversation with the Wichita State University Police Department. Officers, dispatchers and parking services will talk to students and staff on a variety of topics, including campus safety. Donuts will be provided at the conversation on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. 

Shocker Store to hold a color wall tee sale

This week only, the Shocker Store is selling their color wall T-shirts for only $8 in the RSC. The store is looking to make room for new colors. Students and staff can also purchase one online.

Jabara Hall closing for the weekend

Due to maintenance, Jabara Hall will be closed from 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20 until Monday, Oct. 23 at 5 a.m.

Faculty Regalia orders now available

Regalia rental orders from faculty and staff attending fall commencement are now being taken at the Shocker Store. Payment is due at the time orders are placed. Custom regalias can be ordered up until Friday, Oct. 20, and the deadline to place an order is Friday, Nov. 3, at 4 p.m.

Third annual Diversity Week to be hosted 

The third annual Diversity Week will kick off Monday, Oct. 30. The Student Government Association is hosting this week to increase student engagement and decrease incidents of bias, harassment and discrimination. 

The theme for the week this year is “A Different World: Learn from Others and Value Everyone (L.O.V.E).” To learn more about Diversity Week, click here
