Hall sheds his dreads for NCAA Tournament
Carl Hall has constantly kept other players distracted with his dreadlocks. The hair may have even helped him get his shots off.
Thursday was very different when the senior forward took the court for the Shockers for the second round of the NCAA Tournament match against Pittsburgh University.
It’s so new that even Hall hasn’t seen the same person in five years.
“It’s really different,” Hall said. “I lay in bed at night and I rub my head, wondering, what did I do?”
In his second year at WSU, Hall may have even shocked head coach Gregg Marshall when he called him to announce his new haircut.
“I never asked him to cut his hair. I recruited him with the hair,” Marshall said. “I don’t know the reason why, or the timing of it. It was a little odd, but it’s his hair.”
Despite the drastic change at such a vital moment in the season, other Shocker players felt like the haircut was a good change.
“He’s been moving faster in practice,” junior forward Cleanthony Early said.
