Argo

Ben Affleck’s latest film and third directorial outing details the true-life events that occurred during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis, where a rescue team went under the guise of a film crew. With a unique premise and a cast that features Bryan Cranston, Alan Arkin and John Goodman, this is one you should not miss.

Here Comes the Boom

From the people that brought you “The Waterboy” and “Zookeeper” comes the story of a former college wrestler turned biology teacher, played by “Paul Blart: Mall Cop’s” Kevin James, who turns to mixed-martial arts to raise money for his school’s extra-curricular. While this film displays some potential, the comedic angle just might be overkill. Also, didn’t “Nacho Libre” have a similar plot, except it was a priest being a luchador?

Seven Psychopaths

Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Tom Waits and Christopher Walken all in one movie called “Seven Psychopaths?” This sounds like a winner, but, wait, what’s the catch? Oh, it’s Colin Farrell as a struggling screenwriter who takes his inspiration from the cast. So much for my hopes of this film being on the level of the 1989 film “The Dream Team.”
