Curator of Special Collections Lorraine Madway informs Mark Strohminger about the history of the Olympic Oak Tree and its connection with Wichita State and Kansas. The tree runs back to the 1936 Berlin Olympics when the US won gold in the first ever Basketball events.

In Special Collections in Ablah Library students can read abou the history of the Olympic Oak Tree which is located in the entrance of Koch Arena. Students can however also admire the tree whose roots come from the 1936 Berlin Olympics like freshman students Tsunkit Man and Rekisha Pootoon who read about the tree.
