Wichita State women’s basketball’s roster for the 2025-26 season was finalized on Wednesday, June 11, according to Wichita State Athletics.
Junior guards Karys Washington and Azjah Reeves will round out the Shockers’ new-look team for the upcoming season. Reeves and Washington are the 10th and 11th newcomers on head coach Terry Nooner’s squad after much roster turnover this offseason.
Washington most recently played for Coffeyville Community College in Kansas. She averaged 11.1 points and 7.9 rebounds per game last season and shot 40.1% from the floor.
Washington, who stands at 5-foot-10, isn’t much of a threat from 3-point range. She only shot 17 attempts from deep at an 11.8% rate last season, but led the Red Ravens in rebounds by over 100.
She will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Reeves, a sophomore guard, signed with Wichita State on May 22. She averaged 7.2 points per game on 31% shooting last season at McNeese State.
Reeves has shown she has quick hands on the defensive side of the ball, totaling 73 steals in two seasons. As a freshman, she led the Cowgirls with 44 steals. However, she turned the ball over 165 times at McNeese State.
Reeves will have at least two years of eligibility remaining.
Jayla Smith, a senior from Eastern New Mexico State, initially signed with the Shockers on the same day as Reeves. But, a spokesperson for Wichita State Athletics told The Sunflower that she exhausted her NCAA eligibility and couldn’t join the 2025-26 roster.
