Baker makes Knicks roster
Former Wichita State guard Ron Baker has made the final 15-man roster for the New York Knicks.
Baker was among the final two members to make the roster under head coach Jeff Hornacek. The other was forward Maurice Ndour.
Veteran forward Lou Amundson and North Carolina product J.P. Tokoto were cut. The most notable of the final cuts was former Stanford guard Chasson Randle.
Randle is still owed a guaranteed $100,000, but Hornacek stated that the Knicks front office would not be afraid to cut a player on a guaranteed deal to make room for a better fit, according to dailyknicks.com.
Baker averaged seven points, two rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in five preseason games and shot a formidable 46 percent in 17.8 minutes per game.
Baker and the Knicks will open their regular season this Tuesday in Cleveland at 6:30 CT to face the defending champion Cavaliers on TNT.
