New women’s basketball assistant coach
Jody Adams, women’s basketball head coach, and the rest of the Shocker women’s basketball staff have hired former Texas State assistant coach Chandra Dorsey as an assistant coach.
Dorsey replaces former assistant coach Dana Eikenberg, who was with Wichita State for three years. Eikenberg spent one year as the director of basketball operations and two years as an assistant coach.
“I am thrilled to add Chandra to our staff,” Adams said. “Her attention to detail in her teaching and recruiting is so important for championship results, which is what we are striving for at Wichita State.”
During her time at Texas State, Dorsey was also the recruiting coordinator. Her first recruiting class combined for 20.1 points per game, scoring almost 29 percent of the team’s points in 2012-13.
“It is easy to tell she is an impact coach by whom she has recruited, and the relationships she has built with administration and players,” Adams said. “The respect she has gained will follow her here.”
Dorsey makes her Shocker coaching debut at the first tip-off of the 2014-15 season.
