‘Shocker Madness’ honors men’s and women’s 2013 basketball teams

This Friday the men’s and women’s Shocker basketball teams will be celebrating their successful March Madness runs last season at the Shocker Madness event in Charles Koch Arena.

The celebration starts at 8 p.m. following the women’s volleyball game against Bradley that evening.

The event begins with the introduction of the women’s basketball team, a 3-point shootout by the women, and the 2013 NCAA banner drop.

The team will have a 30-minute scrimmage following the banner drop and the women’s night will end with remarks from head coach Jody Adams.

Following the women’s portion of the night, the men’s basketball team be introduced and presented with their Final Four rings for reaching the NCAA Final Four tournament in the 2013-2014 season.

After the Final Four ring presentation, the men will participate in a slam dunk contest before having a 20-minute scrimmage.

Head coach Gregg Marshall and women’s team head coach Jody Adams will close out the evening with comments to the fans.

ESPNU will record the activity and telecast it at 9 p.m.
