WSU and Watermark Books partner to host talk with international author
Wichita State University and Watermark Books & Café will be having a special guest coming to speak at the Hughes Metropolitan Complex next week. Internationally renowned author Khaled Hosseini, author of “The Kite Runner” and “A Thousand Splendid Suns,” will speak about his books and his life.
Ted Ayers, vice president and general counsel for WSU, will be joining Hosseini onstage at the Metroplex to ask questions and facilitate discussion.
“I am extremely flattered and pleased to be selected for this opportunity. To publicly dialogue with someone of Mr. Hosseini’s fame and talent on behalf of Watermark Books and Wichita State, excites me greatly,” Ayers said in an interview with WSU News.
Hosseini’s most recent book, “And the Mountains Echoed” is a novel about love and how choices made can affect others. The talk will be over this novel and many other topics.
The talk will be on Wednesday, June 12 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $28.95 plus tax, and include a copy of the new book “And The Mountains Echoed.”
