The Kansas Board of Regents General Counsel John Yeary will serve as interim KBOR president starting on July 1.
This announcement was made by KBOR’s Chair Blake Benson after the regents voted to give Benson the authority to name an interim president to fill in President and CEO Blake Flanders’ position while the search for his replacement is still ongoing.
“The Regents are grateful to John for his leadership and agreeing to assume the responsibilities of serving as Interim President during this period of transition,” Benson said in a KBOR press release.
Yeary has more than 30 years of legal experience within the state of Kansas and has served on KBOR’s General Counsel since 2022.
KBOR is the governing body that oversees higher education institutions in Kansas.
