A resolution was passed honoring Pride month and officially recognizing the contributions of LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, staff and community members by Wichita State’s Student Government Association on Wednesday.
SGA’s Legislative and Policy Affairs Director Blake Bailey presented the bill to the senate and it passed unanimously.
The resolution says SGA “expresses its sincere gratitude to the LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members, both past and present, whose courage and leadership have strengthened our university and city.”
In the resolutions, it also encourages administrators, faculty and staff to continue its support for LGBTQIA+ student organizations and programming, and encourages local civil leaders to continue partnering with WSU.
