Volleyball travels to Marquette Invitational
After finishing 4-1 at the Shocker Classic last week, Wichita State heads to Wisconsin to take on Marquette, IUPUI, and Albany Friday and Saturday. Wichita State defeated South Dakota State, Northern Illinois, No. 21 Kentucky and Texas State, and fell to No. 7 Illinois last weekend.
At 7 p.m. Friday the Shockers will go head-to-head against the 6-3 Marquette Golden Eagles. MU has a season hitting percentage of .251 and is led by Taylor Louis averaging 5.53 kills and 2.03 digs per set.
Wichita State will take on the IUPUI Jaguars at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Jaguars are 7-4 on the season hitting .209 percent while their opposition hits .237 percent. The Jaguars’ Kaitlyn Hickey leads the squad with 3.92 kills and 3.03 digs per set.
At 5 p.m. Saturday Wichita State will play Albany. The Great Danes are 5-4 overall and are hitting an average of .191 percent this season. The player to watch is Shannon Hurley — averaging 3.23 kills per set.
The Shockers are ranked 6th out of ten in the Missouri Valley Conference.
