Boatright had served as the university’s athletic director since 2015 and recently received a contract extension through 2024. The extension was never formally announced by the university.
During his time at WSU, Boatright led WSU’s move from the Missouri Valley Conference to the American Athletic Conference in 2017. In the past six years, WSU has captured 25 conference championships and 19 NCAA Tournament appearances.
Boatright is responsible for the hiring of four coaches at WSU, with Isaac Brown being the latest in March 2021.

Get rid of coach Brown so we can win games again. He’s too passive about losing and no wonder every team member bailed on the school with him as coach. Pay off his contract.and get a real coach hired that can win games and has a fire in his belly about winning games!

We won’t have a good team until Brown is replaced as coach of the basketball team. So embarrassing to have a season like last year. I am an alumni and can’t believe how awful last year was to watch our team. Brown acts like he doesn’t care he just keeps telling the team “it’s alright” when we are losing! It’s not alright and he needs to GO!!!! We need more seasoned and forceful coach that will win our respect back as a school and a winning team.
