Wichita lights up for Christmas
Christmas Light shows are a can’t-miss seasonal tradition for the whole family. There are many great options in Wichita.
Botanica Gardens
Botanica at 701 Amidon St. is running its popular light show until New Year’s Eve, featuring an all-new synchronized light and musical display. Tickets are $7 for adults ($6 for members) and $5 for children 12 and under.
In addition to the traditional light show, Botanica is hosting a spaghetti dinner with Santa, which will be next Monday and Tuesday. Tickets are $12 for adults ($10 for members), and $7 for children ($5 for members).

The Lights on St. Paul
The Arc’s Lights on St. Paul is located four blocks west of Meridian at Douglas and St. Paul Street, and is running through Dec. 29.
The tour opens nightly at 5:30 p.m., closing at 9 p.m. from Sunday-Thursday, 10 p.m. on the weekends and 11:55 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
To help benefit community members with special needs, a $5 donation per car is suggested, and for an extra $5 donation, Santa will be available for photos every Friday and Sunday before Christmas.
Heartspring
Heartspring is running its 10th Annual Lights on the Lake tour until Christmas Day at its 37-acre campus located between Rock and Webb off of 29th. It is open from 5:30-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 5:30-10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, it will also be open until 10 p.m.
Those stopping by on a weekend can enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and cookies, and while the light tour is free, donations for the children who benefit from the organization are always accepted.
River City Trolley and Charters
River City Trolley and Charters runs its hidden gem of a light tour until Dec. 23. Up to 28 people can expect to be treated with complimentary apple cider and homemade gingerbread cookies while seeing Christmas lights from the comfort of a climate-controlled trolley.
A reservation of $15 dollars per person must be picked up by the Trolley at the Sedgwick County Extension Center at Ridge and 21st Street before riding. For more information, visit www.rctrolley.com, or call 316-773-1931.
Party Bus
Finally, there’s the Wichita Unified Party Bus, which is running its light tour seven days a week until Dec. 30. Normal tour times are 5:45-7:45 p.m. and 8:15-10:15 p.m.
