Shockers dominate against Drake

Player #28, Ashley Andrade, and player #7, Katie Reilly, fought fiercely against Drake at the game on Friday.

The Wichita State volleyball team made an impressive drubbing over Drake Friday night, beating them 3-0. The set scores were 25-23, 25-17 and 25-13.

The drama was highest in the first set, when the Shockers took an early lead but were later rebuffed by Drake, bringing the game to a close 16-13 score.

The Bulldogs continued to shorten WSU’s lead, bringing the game to a tie at 19. A service error by Drake and a kill by Katie Reilly brought the Shockers up by two with the first set ending in a 25-23 win.

WSU and Drake went into the second set, trading points until the Shockers were able to make a 4-0 run with a service ace from Reilly, bringing WSU to a 14-9 lead. The Shockers continued to control the game through the second set with Ashlyn Driskill winning the second set for WSU with a kill at 25-17.

In the third set, WSU continued to control the game, taking a commanding 16-5 lead. Back-to-back kills by Driskill and Reilly brought that lead to 20-7, with an eventual win of 25-13.
