Sophomore big man Kenny Pohto is pulling his name from the transfer portal, according to an ESPN report.
The Stockholm, Sweden, native is the only returning starter for Wichita State. He averaged 8.7 points and 5.7 rebounds as a forward this past season.
Pohto adds a veteran presence in the post, alongside graduate transfer Jacob Germany and center Quincy Ballard, who was injured for the majority of the 2022-23 season.
Pohto was the first Shocker to enter the portal on March 13.
He is joined by transfers Bijan Cortes, Harlond Beverly and freshman Joy Ighovodja.
Other returning members of the 2022-23 roster include junior guard Xavier Bell, junior wing Colby Rogers, sophomore forward Isaac Abidde, sophomore wing Jalen Ricks and walk-ons Henry Thengvall and Trevor McBride.

Recruit more in the Great Lakes region, especially Chicago and Detroit. Non conference scheduling needs an upgrade. Schedule home and home with the Big Ten, PAC 12. Big East and ACC. Play games where Alumni live. WSU should be playing in Chicago every year there are fjve D1schools in Chicago area. This would help recruiting. WSU would also attract more out of state students.
