Shocker baseball outplayed at Lawrence
Tuesday nights haven’t been kind to the Wichita State Shockers (26-21) in April.
The Shockers dropped their fifth straight Tuesday game when Dakota Smith drove in the game’s only run, and the Kansas Jayhawks (26-18) beat the Shockers in a 1-0 11 inning duel.
For both teams, it came down to pitching.
KU starter Robert Kahana, who has struggled throughout April with a 7.62 ERA, recorded five strikeouts and no walks through eight innings. The WSU pitchers combined to throw 10 scoreless innings.
The Shockers take the field today against Kansas Wesleyan at 6:30 p.m.
