Softball home game rescheduled

Wichita State’s softball home game against Oklahoma State has been rescheduled from 7 p.m. Wednesday. The teams will now play at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

 


Shocker wins golf tournament

Wichita State’s Caroline Lovette Richmond took the tournament title at the Pinehurst Challenge on Tuesday, carding an 899 (296-298-305). WSU finished in 17th place with a 56-hole score of 962 (324-311-327). 

Sarah Gilbert (77-73-83) and Hannah Martin (77-78-78) tied for 31st with a 233. Hollie Weatherburn (80-78-81) carded a 239 and placed 56th.

WSU will next play at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on April 21 in Sunrise Beach, Mo., at the Club at Porto Cima.

 


Runner named MVC Athlete of the Week

Aliphine Tuliamuk-Bolton, senior, was named the Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday. Tuliamuk-Bolton’s 5,000m time of 15:18.86 currently ranks fourth in the world for 2013 and second in the NCAA. It is the seventh fastest time in NCAA history, and less than one second shy of qualifying her for the World Championships.

Tuliamuk-Bolton holds four MVC and WSU records in track and field. She and the track and field team will compete at a meet at Stephen F. Austin this weekend. Their first home meet of the season will take place April 12-13 at Cessna Stadium. To order tickets, contact the ticket office at 316-978-3267 or in person at the southwest corner of Koch Arena.
