Women’s tennis beats Creighton for first MVC win of season
The Wichita State women’s tennis team looked to avenge the WSU basketball team’s loss to Creighton this weekend with a 6-1 dominating victory of its own.
The Shockers took all three doubles matches in decisive fashion with doubles team Carla Venticinque and Rebecca Pedrazzi winning 8-0.
Pedrazzi would take the momentum from her Bluejays win into her singles match, defeating Creighton’s No. 1 singles player Jennie Hartjes 6-1, 6-1.
Not to be outdone, teammate Satjaporn Mahajaroenkul would later defeat Amanda Noonan 6-0, 6-0.
The Shockers will next go on the road for a while, playing all seven of their next matches away from Wichita, starting Thursday against University of Texas-Arlington in Texas.
