Lonely? Look no further

‘Tis the season to be jolly, falalalalala, and if Wichita State students are not happy then maybe going to auctions offered by the Asian Student Conference and Sigma Alpha Epsilon might just be the thing.

These two auctions are not auctioning off antiques or gift cards, the ASC and SAE are inviting students to come out this weekend and bid on their favorite lady or man.

The weekend begins with ASC’s 8th Annual Date Auction: Skyfall from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at WSU’s Campus Activity Center Theater (CAC).

Tickets for ASC members are $2; tickets for the general public are $4; and tickets bought at the door are $5. Students who bring two canned food items get $1 off from tickets bought at the door.

There will be 19 men and women to bid from after the meet and greet at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m.

During the show, the people up for the auction will show off their talent. Those with the highest bids will have a paid for date at 1 p.m. on Nov. 10.

The proceeds for this event go to the International Rescue Committee. The IRC responds to humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. The Wichita office helps refugees relocate here.

SAE is also offering an auction this weekend offering students to place a bid on their gentlemen at 2 p.m. Saturday at the SAE chapter house on Vassar Street, just south of 17th St.

The fall 2012 SAE pledge class organized the event. The highest bidder can have the men help do housework, wash their car, provide computer help or ask them to attend future events where dates are encouraged.
