Student Fee Committee hearings, originally scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, have been postponed until March, according to an email sent by Wichita State Budget Director David Miller to organizations requesting funding. The new dates for hearings are March 6-8.

“The change will help accommodate a refined revenue estimate to drive budget discussion with spring census headcount data available on the 19th of February,” Miller wrote.

March 6, the first day for hearings, coincides with the announcement of the infrastructure student fee referendum results. Students will vote on whether or not to raise student fees by $6 a credit hour so that the university can bond $38.6 million for campus infrastructure projects. More than half of the money the proposed fee would raise — $20 million — would go towards the construction of a new business building on Innovation Campus.
