Online sales kick off with Cyber Monday

If you weren’t able to get your shopping on with Black Friday (and even if you were), Cyber Monday is here.

Combining all the savings of Black Friday and all the comfort of your pajamas, it’s the best of both worlds. The best thing about Cyber Monday is that retailers often extend it into “Cyber Week.”

Online retailers now get their chance to shine, and according to ShopSavvy, Newegg.com will be offering a 71 percent discount on a number of items.

For those who aren’t familiar, Newegg is a website that sells all the electronic items a college student could ever want. Newegg sells home-goods items as well.

The more traditional brick-and-mortar stores such as Best Buy, Target and Walmart also offer online deals. Walmart’s best deal is an iPad Mini 16GB for only $239.

The retailer to keep an eye on, though, is Amazon. With multiple 40-inch televisions under $300, Chromebooks for $140, and Bose headphones $30 off, Amazon really shines this week.

Check in often though because Amazon also likes to do flash deals — short sales on items that are drastically reduced in price. Amazon uploads new sale items as often as every 10 minutes, so keep your eyes fixed on Amazon’s ‘Deals Week.’

Happy shopping.
