Wichita State’s men’s tennis played strong in Tulsa over the past week, but fell short of qualifying junior Tin Ostojic for the tournament’s main draw.

Ostojic made it to the third and final round before losing to Duke’s Nicolas Alvarez 6-4, 7-5. Ostojic moves to 5-1 on the year.

This marks the second straight year Ostojic has lost in the final round of the qualifying draw.

WSU’s lone doubles team of Ostojic/Tomislav Gregurovic sent home LSU’s Jordan Daigle/Chris Simpson 6-4, 6-2 before losing to a duo from the University of Virginia 6-2, 6-2.

The team is next in action when it travels to Norman, Okla., for the ITA Central Regional on Oct. 9 through 13.
