Roads closed due to construction

Major pedestrian routes on campus will be blocked starting March 24 due to construction fencing around Shocker Hall. The fencing is being expanded for construction on a new segment of Perimeter Road that will border the north side of Shocker Hall.

The free parking lots near Koch Arena will be affected. Students walking from Fairmount Towers will need to find a new route. The road to the Morrison Hall Parking lot will soon be under construction, reducing the road to one lane, except for handicapped and reserved parking in Lot 8. Pedestrian traffic will not be allowed on that section of campus.

To assist pedestrians, the Wiedemann Hall shuttle stop will be temporarily relocated to Perimeter Road, just west of the Duerksen Fine Arts Center. The Devlin Hall shuttle stop will be added to the WSU Shuttle System’s Metropolitan Complex Route, replacing the discontinued Hubbard Hall stop. Updated route maps will be available on the WSU Shuttle System homepage beginning March 17 at www.wichita.edu/shuttle.

Fairmount residents can use the Housing Route shuttle. Other pedestrians can walk east on 21st Street and south on Yale, or walk south past the Duerksen Fine Arts Center.
