Shockers tame Wildcats

Wichita State’s Michelle Price had a career night on Wednesday night; she scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds. She carried the basketball team to a 69-46 victory at Kansas State University to even the Shockers’ record to 2-2.

Alex Harden added 15 points and six assists in the win. Jamillah Bonner and Alie Decker scored 10 points each.

The Shockers started with an impressive 10-0 run while the Wildcats struggled to hit only one for 10 from the floor, and the Shockers were up 20-3 after another 10-0 run. WSU took the lead at 29-11 with 4:23 before halftime.

The halftime statistics were amazing for Wichita State — 14 for 30 from the field — while the Wildcats struggled to shoot 7-27.

The Shockers came out of the break in a frenzy. Price and Bonner quickly scored two layups to increase the lead to 22 points.

WSU dominated the Wildcats, shooting 28-52 for the game and shutting down KSU, allowing them to shoot 18-52 from the field for the game.
