Most university employees to receive 2.5% pay increase
Following select pay increases last summer, most faculty and staff can expect to see a 2.5% increase in their salary at the start of July.
After previously saying that pay increases could be somewhere around 4-5%, President Rick Muma announced Thursday that, due to the Kansas Legislature, the amount would be 2.5% for benefits-eligible employees.
The announcement notes that “areas that are funded by external sources, such as contracts and grants, may be handled differently and as appropriate in affected departments.”
The pay increases are part of a market-based compensation initiative by the university. The initiative, which officially started last summer, focuses on analyzing the market to determine pay for employees. More about market-based compensation can be read here.
