Carl Hall rocks new eyewear
Senior Carl Hall is rocking some new glasses this year, and he’s not fond of them.
Despite the grumbles, Hall is wearing protective goggles during games. They serve to both keep his eyes safe and to help with his vision.
“He has terrible vision, so we went goggles this year,” men’s basketball coach Gregg Marshall said. “He doesn’t want to wear it, of course, being Carl. Being a little difficult. Had contacts last year. Couldn’t put them in consistently.”
Hall has complained about the goggles being too strong—they give him blurry vision and he simply doesn’t like to wear them. He told associate head coach Chris Jans just that during Monday’s exhibition with Pittsburg State.
Jans told him he should probably keep them on.
The results were a 7-for-7 performance from Hall. He also went 9-of-10 from the foul line to finish with a game-high 23 points.
Hall might continue to complain about the goggles, but the results were too good for Marshall to ignore.
“He’s going to wear them,” Marshall said with a smile.
