Wichita State men’s basketball signed another commitment via the transfer portal on Monday afternoon.
Brian Amuneke, who previously played for Fresno State, announced his commitment to the Shockers ahead of the 2025-26 season via his agency, @WEAVE on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Amuneke, a 6-foot-5 freshman guard from Los Angeles, played 614 minutes for the Bulldogs last season and started in six games.
Amuneke averaged 7.7 points to go along with 2.6 rebounds per game.
He shot at a 42% rate from the field and 41% from 3-point range. Amuneke doesn’t shy away from the deep ball either, as half of his shots last season (86-172) were from beyond the arc.
Amuneke is more of a scorer than a creator. He had just 13 total assists last year. However, his 106.7 offensive rating led the Bulldogs.
Amuneke is the fifth Weave-represented player the Shockers have signed this offseason in the portal.
Amuneke will join guards Kenyon Giles, Pierre Couisnard Jr., Dre Kindell, Tyrus Rathan-Mayes, Joy Ighovodja and TJ Williams on head coach Paul Mills’ roster next season.
Wichita State now has one roster spot remaining.
