SVO president & US Marine Corps veteran Levi Schenk said that service members can be a little stubborn but that doesnt serve them well when it comes to suicide prevention. Schenk and other SVO members, including student-body VP Michael Bearth are behind the ongoing American flag campaign on campus which raises awareness for the roughly twenty-two US service members who kill themselves every day. The 16-day flag campaign finishes Monday which is Veterans day.

Students from The Coleman Middle School WorldChangers volunteer to lead the march through Wichita State’s campus as part of the Purple Mile. This was the 5th year that it took place on WSU’s campus and it’s grown every year, organizers said.

This clothesline was put up along the path of Purple Mile marchers Saturday. It showed messages from kids to abusers. Sometimes kids were speaking to their parents. This t-shirt read, “Dear Dad, Please Don’t Hurt Mom Anymore. It makes me very sad.”
