Shockers break losing streak with weekend series

Wichita State and Evansville finished up their series against each other today as the Shockers took the game by a score of 13-3 in 8 innings.

The Shockers were the first to get on the board in the 4th with Tyler Baker singling to center and allowing Micah Green to double so he would score.

Wichita State then added to the lead in the 5th inning by way of Tanner Kirk singling then a sacrifice by Tanner Dearman and then Dayne Parker singled in Tanner Kirk. Then Casey Gillespie walked and then Garrett Bayliff doubled and scored Gillespie and Dayne Parker. Then Cody Bobbit drew a bases loaded walk and that put the score at 5-0 and then Tanner Kirk doubled to bring everybody home and bring the score 8-0.

Then in the seventh the Aces scored behind two solo home runs by Ryan McKibban and Shain Showers.

Then in the 8th inning the Shockers led off Dearman with a single then Gillespie walked, Bayliff singled in Dearman. Baker then singled to load the bases and then Simpson hit a grand slam to end the game by a score of 13-3.
