Wichita State will build a parking garage on this lot, located south of the Rhatigan Student Center. The parking garage is set to be completed in July 2017 and will feature about 450 spots for students, faculty and visitors.

Wichita State will get a parking garage on the main campus, the university announced Thursday.

WSU News reported the garage will be built just south of the Rhatigan Student Center and financed through parking fees and bond proceeds. The parking garage will be built on an existing lot that is used by faculty and staff. It will cost $7.2 million.

The parking garage is set to open in July 2017, according to WSU News.

The parking garage will have about 450 spots for faculty, students and visitors. It will be a pay-to-park garage.

According to WSU News, the project will go out to bid in the coming weeks. A contract is expected to be awarded at the end of the month.
