UPDATE: A 29-year-old male student was found unresponsive in a Fairmount Towers South dorm room, where a student assistant found him alone, according to a release from Wichita State Thursday morning. Emergency crews responded to a call after 11 p.m. Wednesday.

No foul play is suspected, the release said.

According to Wichita Police documents, an RA was investigating “a smell” in the dorm room when she found the student unresponsive of an apparent drug overdose.

University counselors were at the dorms to meet with residents, according to the WSU statement, and some residents were relocated to other rooms overnight.

Fairmount Towers is located at 21st and Hillside.

Next of kin have been notified, according to an update from the university Thursday morning.
