Stop stressing with a little counsel

The college experience can be an overwhelming experience for many students, especially first-year students. Sometimes, the stress of it all can seem to be too much. The Wichita State Counseling and Testing Center can help.

The Center is located on the third floor of Grace Wilkie Hall north of Ablah Library and near the Heskett Center. It offers many counseling services. Typically, students visit with the counselors to address issues of academic stress, time management and learning disabilities. Counseling services are also available to any student facing life difficulties.

Some students may already be familiar with the center. It offers an ACT preparation workshop and is the place on campus where Advanced Placement and other high school test credit scores are sent.

Often, if a WSU student needs to make up a test for a class, they will do so in the Counseling and Testing Center. In that case, the student will be notified about when a makeup test can be taken.

Any student is welcome to use the services. The first visit with a counselor is free, after the cost is $8.00 a visit. To schedule an appointment call (316) 978-3440 or visit the office on the third floor of Grace Wilkie. The office is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.
