News Brief: Updated look coming to Sigma Alpha Epsilon

The Sigma Alpha Epsilon house will soon look different. The members of the men’s fraternity have decided to give their house a makeover.

SAE President Tyler Nepote knew it was time for a change.

“Our old deck had seen better days and it was in need of being replaced,” Nepote said. “Instead of going a basic route, the undergraduates and alumni felt it was time to drastically improve the exterior of the house.”

The renovations to the house will include a new deck, a ramp to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, wrought iron railings and hand rails, and the fraternity’s coat of arms will be etched in granite.

“Our architect, Hanney and Associates, worked closely with the Wichita Historic Preservation Office and our contractor, Turnkey Construction, to bring the project in budget and meet the historic requirements of the area,” said Richard Bowman, House Corporation Member.

This project should take about three months and will coincide with the 45th anniversary of SAE being at Wichita State.
