Marija Pacar (left) points and Jyar Francis dabs after Wichita State scores in the fourth quarter.

Wichita State sophomore forward Jyar Francis did not travel with her teammates Thursday when they departed for Columbia, Missouri.

In fact, she won’t be traveling with the Shockers for any future games.

Francis is leaving the program with intentions of transferring to a school closer to her home in Louisiana, head coach Jody Adams-Birch announced Thursday.

“We want what Jyar thinks is best for her now and for her future,” Adams said. “I wish her only the very best in all her endeavors.”

Francis played 26 games for the Shockers last season. She battled injury during the summer and early fall limiting her play to three games this season.
